Milan Fashion Week Fall 2012 – Top 5 Shows

Milan Fashion Week certainly is always the fashion week of glamour and this season it did not disappoint. As one of Milan’s strongest  Fashion Weeks ever, a strict and tough but romantic mood followed through the collections. From Gucci’s gothic romanticism to Roberto Cavalli’s daringly dark peplums, maybe the Rooney Mara rage has even influenced the designers! The wearable and covetable clothes got better as the week went on. It’s just what women want to wear. Whether it was the tears and standing ovation at Raf Simons’ last show for Jil Sander or the constant rumours about the Dior job (it has officially been a year), this Milan Fashion Week has definately been an eventful one

Here is my pick of the top 5 shows:

Bottega Veneta

Gucci

Prada

Roberto Cavalli

Jil Sander

Balmainia

Olivier Rousteing is said to be Christophe Decarnin’s successor at Balmain. The Unkown designer has worked for Roberto Cavalli and left for Balmain after 6 years. Rousteing has been working under Christophe for the last 3 years, while Balmain was at the top of it’s league. Will Olivier continue the Rock n Roll chic we love so much, also known as Balmainia? Or will there be a new leaf dropped upon the Parisian house for us all to love…….or hate. Only time will tell.
