Vogue September 2012

It’s their 120th anniversary issue and there is no one better to grace the cover then Lady Gaga.

Vogue’s 916 page September issue was released today I must say I approve! Lady Gaga photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in a Marc Jacobs hot pink dress especially designed for the cover gets me so excited to see what else is inside.

Do you approve?

The Investment

This season, make your investment piece Chanel’s gold sequined jacket (which I am completely in love with). Seen everywhere this month, including American and British Vogue. Wouldn’t you want the jacket all the editors love? Make it casual with a pair of jeans for day and throw it over a ball gown at night. You can’t go wrong. It may be a little pricey (£23,800), but it is guaranteed to be a show stopper, so don’t be afraid to go CRAZY!

Dismissed

Yet again the fashion industry is continuing on with their designer firings. Chief designer of Gap Patrick Robinson has been dismissed by the label. Robinson has worked with designers like Giorgio Armani and has collaborated with big names for the Gap brand, turning the collaborations into an annual event.  After four years of Robinson’s design work the brand feel they need a “fresh approach”, but how will Vogue react ? since his wife,Virgina Smith  is one of the magazine top editors. Again I ask, what will happen next?

New Face at W Magazine

Fashion stylist Edward Enninful is leaving his 20 year career at i-D magazine and is beginning an new one at W. After becoming the youngest ever fashion editor at the age of 18, Enninful has created romantic and beautiful photo shoots working with the worlds best photographers like Craig McDean and Steven Klein, and the worlds top magazines like Italian and American Vogue. Enninful will be replacing Alex White at W magazine, who is said to be starting her own label. “My 16 years at W have been thrilling,” said White. “I’ve worked with wildly talented people and helped produce a gorgeous magazine. I was delighted to stay and help Stefano through his first, transitional year, and am looking forward to new beginnings”. Now the question is, who replaces Edward at i-D?

The Time Has Come

Tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for. The Royal Wedding. As Ms. Middleton takes her first steps down the aisle, revealing her dream dress to the whole world, I hope it lives up to everyones expectations. It could make or brake the day.

The Engagement Picture

Almost More importantly, who will the designer be? For a while it was rumoured to be John Galliano, but after he hit a personal low earlier this year, the rumours suddenly disappeared. After that it was Stella Mc Cartney, but that did not last long. When Alexander McQueen’s collection at Paris Fashion Week consisted of mostly white and ending in wedding dresses, everyone tipped Sarah Burton (Creative Director of Alexander McQueen) as the lucky designer. I must admit for quite a while I thought it was Burton too. Even Editor-at-Large of American Vogue – Andre Leon Talley – said she is the designer to do it. As it is getting closer to the day I now feel the designer might be unkown.

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2011

There are so many questions to be answered. Will it be big and flamboyant or simple and elegant? Will she have a vail or tiara? Who is designing the shoes? What about make-up and hair? I just hope her dress compliments her well and is as beautiful as we hope and please God do not let her trip down the aisle!
