Rumours, Rumours, Rumours

Rumours have raised yet again in the fashion industry. Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci has supposedly been telling his close friends that he is the new designer at Dior, replacing John Galliano. During Paris Fashion Week, suspicions were that Riccardo was leaving Givenchy and joining Dior, and Haider Ackermann would become his successor at Givenchy. So are these rumors true?  Although Dior may not release a press statement until September, at this moment in time it is quite obvious that Riccardo Tisci is the Chosen one.

John Galliano Sacked Again

Did you think the John Galliano scandal could get any worse? Well it did. The visionary fashion designer who was fired from Chrisitan Dior in March, after saying ‘I love Hiter’ while drunk in a Parisian bar, has been now fired from his own eponymous label. The John Galliano label who’s clients include Kate Husdon, Drew Barrymore and Rhianna, was set up in 1984 by the man himself.  The eccentric label has been offering romantic collecions with a story behind every Avant-Garde outfit ever since.

John Galliano

91 percent of the company is owned by Chrisitan Dior, so it comes to no suprise that Galliano was let go from this company too. There are no plans currently to sell the brand.

The in-house creative team will takeover the design end of the brand. What will happen to Galliano’s famous exits? Next season will certainly be an interesting one!
