Fashion Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for Dolce and Gabbana have decided to extinguish their diffusion line D&G. The hint flew across the fashion world when the brand closed 15 D&G stores in Japan earlier this year.
Domenico and Stefano are planning to merge the D&G label together with the Dolce and Gabbana label, making it a brand for all ages. The design duo have spoken out about the news revealing they had felt frustrated to design for two labels. The D&G label kept the ‘made in Italy’ tag for most collections, causing more expenses to be paid.
This is not the first for an established design house to close down it’s diffusion line. Gianfranco Ferrre went the same direction with GF Ferre and Versace with Versace Jeans Couture. Spring/Summer 2012 is set to be D&G’s last collection. Start saving now!
