Words cannot describe the influence Diana Vreeland had towards the fashion world. Her vision, her drive, her enthusiasm, her passion created something new and interesting. Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel is a new documentary created by her granddaughter-in-law Lisa Immordino Vreeland. With interviews with designers Vreeland founded, like Manolo Blahnik and Oscar De La Renta and icons she created like Anjelica Huston and Lauren Hutton it is well worth a watch. Not only do you get an inside look into her glamorous lifestyle, but also a sense of what she was like as a person, colleague and friend. Her unique wit makes it a comical experience. She is dearly missed and we cannot thank her enough for what she did to the fashion world.

Get ready ladies, a dream collaboration is about to happen……….wait for it……… Manolo Blahnik for Kurt Geiger!!!!

This July, a 300 sq ft boutique will be opening in Harrods holding the Autumn/Winter 2012 Manolo Blahnik for Kurt Geiger collection. The range will also be available in Liberty, which already holds accessories such as bags and stationary from Blahnik. Even though the wait for July may seem unbearable, Blahnik’s London boutique on Old Church Street will still hold his covetable main line collection. ”I am very excited that my shoes will reach an even broader audience through Kurt Geiger in Liberty and Harrods” Blahnik told WWD. All I can say is WE ARE TOO!

“I am delighted with the agreement. Manolo Blahnik shoes are beautiful and an amazing mix between trends and classicism”, said Rosa Tous, Vice President and Creative Director of the Spanish jewellery company Tous on her collaboration with Manolo Blahnik. The idea came when Manolo, who’s shoes have been worn by women all over the world for almost 40 years, commented on Rosa Tous teddy bear pendant at a luncheon in Madrid. The Campari Mary Jane, designed in 1994, was chosen as the lucky style to be dangling around womens necks all over the world. To qoute Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, I thought it was an “urban shoe myth” too. The pendant, which comes in either gold or sterling silver, will be sold in 300 Tous stores worlwide and later Manolo Blahnik stores and luxury retailers.The pendants are priced from only $150 to $1499.

Finally we have a chance to keep a Manolo forever.So worth it!
