New York Spring 2013 Top 5 Shows

New York was great this year. Between collections of 1960’s glamour and innovative silhouettes and prints came covetable, wearable clothes. These 5 shows I have chosen as my favorite was a hard choice considering the extremely successful collections each designer delivered. Strong trends came through right from the start and the New York Fashion Week hype buzzed around the city better then ever before!

New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 – Top 5 Shows

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) took an unexpected turn this time. Instead of the established designers taking over the spotlight, it was all about the up-and-coming (with the exception of Marc Jacobs and Alex Wang of course). From Rodarte’s Australian dream, Proenza Schouler’s collection of protection, Altuzarra’s traveling warrior, Alexander Wang’s monochrome magic and Marc Jacobs’ fantasy of reality, this week certainly delivered a wide range of variety but with an overall tough edge. Here are some of my favorite looks from my pick of NYFW’s top 5 designers:

Marc Jacobs

Alexander Wang

Altuzarra

Proenza Schouler

Spring/Summer 2012 Trend Report

It’s time for the Trend Report. Here is the best of the trends you’ll be wearing for Spring/Summer 2012. This season Designers seemed to be inspired by what is happening around them, from sports wear (The London Olympics) to 1920’s glamour (the re-make of The Great Gatsby film) and everything in between. Originality and individuality also proved to be on designer’s minds from tribal wear to a 1950’s housewife, it’s time to make up your own mind.

Fur-tastic

Go all out for Fall and stock your wardrobe with fur for the feet. Finally an open toed stiletto during Winter does not seem so crazy. Do not be afraid to indulge into bright colors, it’s time to draw attention to your feet.
